Tribes Tuesday

Galway Races Launches “Tribes Tuesday” – A Celebration of Community, Competition and Galway Pride
The countdown is on for the 2026 Galway Races Summer Festival, returning to Ballybrit for seven unforgettable days from Monday, 27th July to Sunday, 2nd August 2026 and this year sees the exciting launch of a reimagined and revitalised Tribes Tuesday.
Taking place on Tuesday, 28 July, Tribes Tuesday is set to become one of the standout days of race week, celebrating community spirit, local pride and friendly rivalry as clubs, teams, supporters, families and friends from across Galway come together for a unique festival experience.
As part of the celebrations, Galway Races is proud to introduce the brand-new Five Grand Challenge, giving local clubs the chance to compete for a €5,000 cash prize in a high-energy live competition at Ballybrit.
Fundraising Opportunity for Clubs
Tribes Tuesday is not just about competition, it also offers clubs a valuable fundraising opportunity.
When clubs sign up for Tribes Tuesday, they can sell tickets directly to supporters, members, family and friends as part of a dedicated club fundraiser. For every Tribes Tuesday ticket sold through a participating Club, €7.50 will be donated directly back to the club.
To get involved, clubs simply need to email olivia@galwayraces.com. Once registered, clubs will be added to the drop-down selection list on the Galway Races ticketing page. Every ticket purchased through the Club will then automatically generate a €7.50 donation back to the Club.
Galway Races handles everything, meaning there is no ticket distribution, cash handling or money collection required by clubs.

The Five Grand Challenge
The challenge invites any Club from across Galway to enter a team of three adults, with each team including at least one female participant.
Each competitor will take part in one of three fun and demanding challenges on day:
- Rodeo Horse
- Hang Tough
- Squat Challenge
Combined scores from all three events will determine the overall rankings, with the top 10 teams progressing to the Grand Finale.
In the final showdown, each club will nominate one runner to represent their team in a thrilling 300-metre sprint race, where the winning club will take home the €5,000 prize.
To qualify for the Five Grand Challenge, participating clubs must sell a minimum of 30 Tribes Tuesday tickets.
Clubs interested in taking part can register now by signing up here or contacting olivia@galwayraces.com.
The competition promises plenty of excitement, entertainment and community camaraderie, adding a fresh and energetic dimension to the Tuesday of this year’s Galway Races Summer Festival.
SEE YOU IN BALLYBRIT.
