Punters Back Huge Crowd For Galway Festival With Over 130,000 Expected For The Week

1/4 From 1/2 That 2019 Attendance Is Beaten On Monday

BoyleSports are expecting a healthy attendance at the upcoming Galway Festival after receiving requests on the size of the crowd this week.

The Festival traditionally attracts a huge crowd to Ballybrit, but 2019 was the last year that full crowds flocked to the venue to catch the action. With a full capacity now back in place, punters have been busy predicting a significant increase in spectators this year.

Short odds of 1/2 were chalked that the 2019 attendance of 20,497 would be exceeded on the Monday of the festival this year, but those odds didn’t last long as it’s now just a 1/4 shot in the latest betting.

There has also been support for the overall 2019 figure of 130,058 over the seven days to be exceeded this year with those odds plummeting into 1/33 from 1/10, so it’s safe to say that punters are predicting a huge turnout in Ballybrit after pandemic restrictions deprived racegoers for so long.

Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Racegoers are buzzing for the Galway Festival this month and why wouldn’t they be? Punters are backing a huge crowd to descend on Ballybrit as it’s now 1/4 from 1/2 that the 2019 figures will be blitzed on the opening day, while it’s a short 1/33 from 1/10 that over 130,000 will attend over the seven days.”
