Her announce judging panel for this year’s Best Dressed Lady at the Galway Races

The Her Best Dressed Lady competition will take centre stage on Thursday August 1st with one winner walking away with a holiday of a lifetime

Monday, July 1st 2019: Join Ireland’s stylish racegoers on Thursday 1st August as they flock to Galway for the Her Best Dressed Lady competition at the Galway Races Summer Festival. One of the biggest days in the Irish Racing calendar, this event is also an unmissable day out for fashion lovers.

Her is delighted to welcome Galway native and TV personality Síle Seoige, and nutritionist and best-selling author Rosanna Davison to the judging panel, alongside Her’s Gillian Fitzpatrick. The stylish trio of judges promise to shake up this year’s competition, throwing the rule book out the window in their hunt for the Best Dressed Lady on the day.

The Best Dressed Lady Competition is held every year at the Ballybrit racecourse and attracts crowds of over 145,000. Her’s dedicated Style section on site had close to 26 million page views in the past year, so the team is expertly positioned to showcase all of the action and behind-the-scenes excitement from #HerBestDressed on Ireland’s largest female platform.

Alongside the judges, Her’s panel of experts and style hunters will scour Ballybrit racecourse to find the very best outfits and a winner worthy of the prestigious prize, which includes a luxury holiday to the Seychelles from Emirates Holidays, the tour operator of Emirates airline, specialising in tailormade 4* and 5* holiday packages, plus €3,000 in spending money.

Speaking in advance of the fashion competition, Rosanna Davison said, “I’m looking for some genuine style, without trying too hard! The lady who wears an outfit with confidence while adding her own individual flair will stand out for me.”

Síle Seoige added: “I am thrilled to be part of this fantastic day, I have been going to Galway Ladies’ Day for years. I am looking for fun and individuality. I want to see bold colours and designs that turn heads!”

`

Gillian Fitzpatrick, Chief Commercial Officer at Maximum Media, says: “Every lady brings her own style to the track on the day, but Ladies’ Day is more than posing and pouting for judges. We are looking forward to showcasing all the action and behind-the-scenes excitement from Her Best Dressed Lady on our channels.”

Not only is Thursday of Galway Races a pinnacle of the fashion calendar, but Gillian says that it offers a forum for women – and entrepreneurs in particular – to support each other.

It’s about the racing for some and the fashion for others, but it is also about the business of fashion. At Galway you’ll find milliners, event organisers, PR professionals, food producers, designers, executive coaches and an array of creative types all trading ideas and connections while showing support for each other’s businesses.”

Michael Moloney Manager of Galway Racecourse said “We’re really excited to be working with such a successful vibrant Irish brand as Her.ie. The prize is going to be hugely sought after and the judge line up is fantastic. We’ve had a huge volume of interest since the prize was announced. Who wouldn’t want a dream holiday and €3,000 to go with it! This Summer is our 150th birthday and we look forward to welcoming all our guests to the races in July!”

Admission on the day is €30 per person, Gates open at 11am and Her Best Dressed entrants are advised to arrive early. The finalists will be selected by 2pm at the latest. To keep up to date on Her Ladies’ Day Best Dressed Competition at the Galway Races, see www.her.ie
