Things aren’t quite back to normal yet but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate safely and in style. This year’s event, on Thursday, July 29th, will be a fully interactive and virtual experience for anybody who wants to take part – and for the lucky few who will be in attendance on the day.
Whether you’re at home wearing the gorgeous outfit you wished you had been able to wear to the races, or you’ve managed to secure yourself a spot at the track on July 29, you could be in with a chance of being crowned Her Best Dressed this year.
Her is delighted to welcome model and blogger Louise O’Reilly, also known as @StyleMeCurvy, as a judge for this year’s event. Louise’s prestige in the fashion world and her penchant for glamour will no doubt make this year’s competition well worth getting involved in.
Louise O’Reilly, model and blogger at @StyleMeCurvy, says: “I’m looking forward to seeing what outfits people put together, be it whether they’re upcycling something from the wardrobe they have, or getting something new. I’m also a huge hat lover, I’m a big fan of Irish designers and Irish milliners.
Louise adds that when judging this year’s entries, she will be paying particular attention to colour. She says:
“I like to see things flow, and people share their own individual sense of style. It could just be colour blocking interesting colours, I love pops of colour. I’ll also be looking out for classic styles, really nice tailoring, and seeing how they balance their outfit. Colour, for me, is always key.”
To enter the Her Best Dressed competition, simply post a photo to Instagram along with a screenshot of a charity donation of your choice (minimum of €5 per entry). Use the hashtags #HerBestDressed and #IMadeMyDonation, tag the charity of your choice, and include @galway_races and @herdotie.
Once the competition opens for entries on the day, judge Louise will scroll through the photos and deliberate until the entries closes later that day. All finalists and overall winners must be available for interview with Her. To keep up to date on Her Virtual Ladies’ Day Best Dressed Competition, see www.her.ie/bestdressed
