Day 5 of the Galway Races Summer Festival 2021

With eight competitive jump races on the card, racing on Friday kicks off at 4.00pm with the last race at 7.45pm. The feature race on the day is the fourth race at 7.10pm, The Guinness Galway Blazers Handicap Steeplechase, run over 2 miles 6 furlongs and 111 yards.

Regarded as Ireland’s largest horse racing festival, tune into all the action on the day with TG4, Racing TV and on radio with Galway Bay FM.

This July, stay in touch with all that’s happening at the Galway Races by tuning in daily to their social media channels via Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. The team in Galway have lots of interviews, fun and entertainment planned to keep their fans engaged in the build up to and during the races, including:

  • The Weights Release on Monday 19th July via Facebook and Instagram LIVE.
  • A dedicated What’s App phone line during the festival for fans to send in their text messages and videos of support direct to all taking part in Ballybrit. Applicable race week only, send your messages into (087) 932 8015.
  • Daily onsite show ‘The Mane Attraction’ direct from the team at the track, bringing you up close and personal and behind the scenes of Irelands largest horse racing festival.

Fridays Most Stylish Competition – It’s back and it’s virtual (again!) thanks to Athlone Town Centre.

Athlone Towncentre’s Fridays Most Stylish event at the Galway Races moves online once more, this year with a prize worth €500!
Following on from a successful virtual event last year, Athlone Towncentre has once again teamed up with the glamorous judging duo of Marietta Doran and Rebecca Rose Stylist, and are inviting the ladies of Ireland to enter #FridaysMostStylish virtually from the comfort of their own homes, or wherever they find themselves on Friday 30th July.
This year’s winner will receive a €500 shopping voucher for Athlone Towncentre.
