Paddy Power Boost Their Sponsorship Of The Best Turned Out Horse Contest Across The Week
The grooms working at the festival could find themselves with the chance to win a bumper cash prize after Paddy Power boosted their sponsorship of the Best Turned Out Horse contest across the week, doubling their winnings to €200 in each race, and €500 for the winner of the Galway Hurdle.
Each winning groom will be automatically entered into a draw at the end of the week when they could walk away from Ballybrit with a briefcase stashed with a bumper cash prize of €1,500, in what is one of the biggest Best Turned Out Horse sponsorships of its kind in Ireland.
“Without the grooms slogging away in the behind the scenes day and night throughout the festival, it simply wouldn’t happen. They are the caretakers of the crown jewels of this event, and it’s only right that both they themselves, and the horses they care for are rewarded for their efforts. So, the groom responsible for the winning horse in each race will be presented with a 24 carrot bouquet as a treat for their charge, a cheque for their pockets of €200 and the chance to win €1,500,” a spokesperson for Paddy Power said.
